This is a very common questions for newer businesses, or just businesses that haven’t started up on their social media journeys yet. It’s a very viable question, as you can see both happening when on social media. When checking Instagram, you see nothing but influencers, while Facebook tends to have a lot of cool “Fan Pages.” Which one is the right route for your business? Do you create a separate business account, or should you try to use your current personal account to market your business? The answer is both!
It’s important make a separate LinkedIn, Instagram & Facebook page for your Business! Absolutely don’t share those pages, unless you are building your brand under your own name as an influencer with OVER 25K Followers. Even then I would have a separate account!
How does marketing differ on personal vs business accounts?
Marketing is a little different on LinkedIn. It’s one of the few platforms where it’s actually better to become an influencer for your business. LinkedIn platform favors people over businesses, while the other two have little preference. It’s important to create your brand and publicize it through their own social media accounts so that others can follow what your business has to say. Give your business profile some personality, just don’t make it about YOUR personal life!
Can I market my business social media account with my personal account?
There’s nothing wrong with linking towards your business account using your main account, however. In fact, I recommend it! These are the benefits of having a separate business Facebook account. It’s how you can get your followers & friends to see your business’ posts! Share your business posts on your personal page whenever it’s something relevant to your friends/ followers. Then when they like it (on Facebook,) you can invite them. On Instagram, it would be better to tag your personal profile in your business’s “Story,” and then share that “Story” on your own profile, which will automatically link to your business page.
** A Hidden Tip I can provide is to actually “link” your Instagram business profile to your Facebook business profile account. There are a lot of benefits to this. One of which, is to be able to share posts onto both platforms simultaneously. Ex. posting an Instagram post that also publishes onto your Facebook automatically. (instructions shown below)
Try creating your business social media today, and use your own social media accounts to gain your first followers! Don’t be scared, share your business with the world! Have you ever tried advertising with Google Ads, previously Google AdWords, and felt you were doing great, until suddenly your budget is eaten up and you haven’t gotten any new sales/ sign ups?
It seems almost out of left field, and you can’t figure out why.. This happens to everyone at some point, and it’s due to a lack of Google Ads optimization. Here are the three simple steps on how to optimize your Google Ads to get the lowest costs, while receiving the highest conversion rates.
1. Optimize your keywords
How do you find the right keywords? Start by writing down the top three keywords you believe are valuable and that you think your audience would use to search for your product. THEN, put them into Google’s “Keyword Planner” and use that data to find the best results for you based on volume of clicks/ competition.
2. Find your top performing keywords
This is done after your ads have been running for a few weeks. The most important Ads tab in regards to optimizing your campaigns is the “search term report”. The queries your keywords will be utilizing are usually a variation of what you put in. For example, if your keyword was, “best ERP software” you might also be getting hits for “best ERP software for small businesses” or, “Best ERP software for free.” It’s important to track your best and worst performing keywords, and utilize “Negative” keywords to eliminate those that you are wasting resources on that aren’t getting your results, while bidding higher on those with better results or more competition.
3. Get setup with Bid Modifiers
That’s a way of adjusting settings on your ads, based on the data you’ve received. For example, you can adjust the bid slightly higher for your audience’s age, their locations, and days of the week that are performing better. You might increase your bid on people in Los Angeles by 50%, while decreasing your ad spend for people over the age of 28 by 15% because those people might be less valuable to you, or are lower converting!Always try to update and lower your costs instead of stopping your ads because they get expensive. Should I Market My Business with Facebook?
Why should Facebook be your first go-to platform for advertising with social media? We have 5 reasons, and a few strategies to help you ramp up your results.
The Largest User Base:
You cannot ignore Facebook – it’s everywhere! We are talking about a platform that surpasses the population of China with its nearly 2 billion users. But what does this mean for your social media marketing campaign? Your target audience is there somewhere.
In-Depth Hyper-Targeting:
We are talking about locations, languages, age, connections, demographics, interest, or even behavior patterns – you can literary target your next-door neighbor or President Trump with such capabilities.
Lookalike Audiences?:
Do you have a highly converting audience? Now imagine duplicating this audience. This is precisely what the ‘lookalike audiences’ feature of Facebook does.
ReTargeting:
This Facebook feature allows you to target an audience that has already visited your site. And why would they visit your site in the first place? Simple, they are interested in your offerings and you can easily turn them into buyers.
Smart Phone Users:
We don’t need to look at statistics to know that smartphone penetration is increasing every day. How many times do you break your work day to glance at your phone and check the state of your Facebook account? Yea, just as I thought. This is a marketing goldmine.
Before you discredit the above benefits as theoretical or unnecessary, consider the following example of a brand that literally killed it with their Facebook Ad campaign in 2018.
In a Facebook Ad campaign aimed at generating leads, MobileMonkey used the image displayed below to capture the attention of users and direct them to a Facebook Messenger chatbot.
Some of you often ‘speed-scroll’ through your Facebook feed while nearly subconscious. But how often do you come across a colorful metallic unicorn with the caption ‘TAP TO PLAY?’ You’d stop to see what is going on with the unicorn, wouldn’t you? Courtesy of the ingenious imagery and gamification of the Ad, MobileMonkey was able to cut their Cost-per-lead (CPL) to $5 from $150. Is Instagram Marketing for My Small Business?
Instagram is a ‘show me something interesting’ platform. Although it’s user base (approximately 800 million) is nowhere near Facebook, it’s one the fastest growing platforms and boasts one of the highest conversion rates in the social media landscape. Here’s why:
Increase Your Brand Awareness
With over 4.2 billion posts per day in 2016, think of the possibilities to increase brand awareness.
Reach Your Audience Where Their Attention Is
It’s important to be in front of your audience, but even more important to be where their attention is. Instagram is a great place where their attention is focused, and should be focused on your brand.
It’s A Visual Platform
Yea, we know, that’s obvious. But what sets Instagram apart from other platforms is their exclusive focus on images rather than text and links. And we all know that images connect with us at another level. I’m sure you just looked at a relatable Meme today.
Hyper-Targeting Your Audience
With the same type of platform as Facebook available through their paid advertising options, Instagram allows you to target a specific audience.
To launch a successful social media marketing campaign on Instagram you need to keep a few things in mind including posting quality content, responding to followers, using hashtags wisely, and keeping the captions short but relevant. Take the example of Peel, a cell phone case manufacturer that was able to triple their Return on Investment.
As shown in the screenshot below, Peel utilized aesthetically appealing images to capture the interest and admiration of Instagram users. They also used relevant tags to enhance their visibility in the crowded platform. Tags such as #minimalism, #simplicity, #peel, and #minimalproducts refer to their major selling point of minimalistic yet stylish designs.
But simply capturing the attention of viewers is not enough, Peel went a step further to interact with followers and create a human-like persona to keep users engaged!

When a website is built properly it will have a better chance of getting read more, this is called traffic. The more traffic a website has, the higher its rank. The major website to be concerned about when it comes to rank is Google and your Google ranking. To drive traffic into your website and build your rank, Yelp and Trip Advisor are a great place to start. These two review websites hold huge sway right now in the online marketplace and are great. As you can see, the more traffic your website gets, the more traffic potential it has the ability to receive. SEO is very important when marketing your restaurant.
When optimizing your website for SEO and online ranking, it is best to first put yourself in your customers shoes. Generally, customers who want to find a new restaurant online will be searching from a phone. For instance, they will enter in a Google search, “restaurants near me,” and it will usually yield results for Yelp and Trip Advisor near the top, followed by local blog articles about nearby restaurants. Perform this step as a customer, any ranking and review websites that are like Yelp and Trip Advisor that come up should be noted.
Now, you should set up your Yelp and Trip Adviser accounts. This is a vital step because in both cases, customers may control the image of your business in the absence of a business owner. When you set up your profile for each website you need to upload good quality images. Also, in the description ensure that you add specific keywords that describe your restaurant. Finally, link these sites to your main website for easy access.
It is best to begin at the domain name. This should be your restaurant name or a combination of relevant words with the name in it. If the name is, “The Best Steaks” and Thebeststeaks.com is not available, then go for something like, “Beststeaksrestaurant.com.”
Next, ensure that your site is optimized for mobile use. This means that your users using a smart phone can access your site. Since most of the people on the internet are accessing it via mobile phone and Google ranks mobile optimized websites above regular ones. Mobile optimization is significant.
Your title, and largest text in the website needs to be your restaurants name. The subtitle underneath the main title should be slightly smaller and say what type of food is served there. In all your categories which are, notable critic reviews, blog, menu, locations and about us need to continually have keywords mentioned in them. These are the same keywords you used in your review website profiles. Also, in these categories, use well placed back-links to websites that have to do with your content. IN CONCLUSION
Make sure you are always updating your content. You never want outdated content, but you do always want high quality and keyword rich content on your website. Use high quality images, and never skip out on the aesthetics. If your food doesn’t look good on the site, people won’t want to buy. Restaurants thrive in the desires they create in their customers for their food and drinks, so don’t skip out on letting them know! Look into some SEO marketing strategies that an agency has to offer to help your restaurant gain new customers consistently.
First thing you need to do is choose what website platform to build your website on. There are many different CMS (content management systems) to choose from and choosing the right platform is top priority. You don’t want to start building your site on a CMS platform to find out that it’s totally wrong for you and your site.
Building out your own a fully functioning and nicely designed website isn’t rocket science. It’s quite easy actually, even for a complete novice who hasn’t had very much experience with computers. But you can get into trouble when you don’t choose the right website building platform.
Some platforms require you to know a little bit of HTML / CSS or other coding languages, so you really need to decide where you are at in terms of website building ability. If you are a beginner then you would be best to choose WordPress.
For me, I choose WordPress all the time. There are plenty of other website builders out there to choose from, but WordPress wins hands down for a number of reasons.
The WordPress platform is so easy to use. It’s intuitive and if you know how to use standard Microsoft programs such as Word or Excel, then chances are you’ll already know how to publish your own content on the site you’re about to build.
Another great thing about WordPress is that it can be easily customized with plugins, that can pretty much do anything to your site and make it exactly how you want it. You might want just a simple small business website or a complex e-com site with hundreds of products. WP can handle this.
WordPress is extremely powerful and can run most types of sites. It’s a trusted platform for many of the busiest websites in the world. It can handle pretty much anything.
With more and more people viewing sites on their phones and other mobile devices, it’s really important to have a site that is responsive to these digital demands. With WordPress, most themes come mobile friendly as standard.
WordPress is blessed with a vibrant and helpful community of developers who will be happy to help you out should you get stuck with anything to do with your WordPress site.

When I first started becoming an entrepreneur, I was watching lots of videos, and taking many courses, all after a college degree in business administration. Yet, I knew there were aspects of entrepreneurship I needed to attain from other people’s experiences before my own. I asked over 20 extremely successful business professionals and entrepreneurs which books they recommend and that have changed their lives drastically.
After compiling the results, I came to these entrepreneur books, and have been appreciate and successful ever since. Now, I’m sharing these great books that guided me with you.
When I first started sales, the most important book I read was called, “SPIN Selling.” It definitely changed how I felt and thought about the process of selling. It takes you through the four criteria of a selling technique: Situation ( questions ) Problem ( questions ) Implication ( questions ) Need-payoff ( questions ). By going through these questions, you are able to better understand the pain points/ needs of your potential customers, and how to use that to provide them with a solution, aka your product/ service.
If we’re still talking about selling, “How to Win Friends and Influence People (Digital age edition)” really does play a huge role in this. It’s not a book about sales, it’s a book about people, and how to treat them. That may sound naïve, making it seem that it’s going to summarize politeness or manners. It doesn’t, however, it really just drives deep into how people think, and how you can learn to find the right time and things to say to get your point across, change a mindset, and change the direction of the world.
“Think and Grow Rich” was a game changer for me. The mind is the most powerful force on the planet. You can control your own future and destiny if you decide to plan. Here’s a great quote from the book, “Wishing will not bring riches,” Hill writes. “But desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches.”
A great, and very practical, book that helped me growing up is called, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and it’s basically just summarizing the main 7, (technically 8) habits of successful people. It’s about what steps to take to get things done and do them well. Here’s a few of the habits listed: “begin with the end in mind, put first-things-first, and think win-win.” It’s definitely a must read.
The last book that’s so important for business is called, “Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap…and Others Don’t.” The reason I chose this book is because it really speaks to the details of how businesses become, and continue to stay, successful. Now, this book was written a number of years ago. That may not be a problem for the personal development books, but it can raise some questions for a book on businesses, since they continue to change so much with our culture. Yet, I find it very sad to see that these practices are not instilled within most businesses today. Even in new and upcoming startups! Here’s a quote from the author that sadly, still stands true today “Some of the key concepts discerned in the study,” comments Jim Collins, “fly in the face of our modern business culture and will, quite frankly, upset some people.” Make sure you lift up your company in every way you can to modernize and constantly adapt to the modern, and future multi-cultural world.
Before you can market your product, website, or anything else, you need to know how to sell it. Nowadays, marketing and sales go hand-in-hand. Especially for any entrepreneur or small-business owner. Marketers are salesmen who have to make their service or product appealing and display it to the world. So how does that effect you? You have to be an expert in sales!
Sales – is the exchange of a commodity for money; the action of selling something.
Here are the 3 steps to selling.
1. Know your audience
This is the first, and very most-important step one has to take before they can sell anything to anyone. You wouldn’t go up to a juice bar trying to get them to buy your new brand of Yeezy Knockoffs would you? Yet, in the digital realm, this kind of thing happens more often than not. People will use Google Ads, or Facebook Ads, spending thousands, without the right targeting to the specific audience that will be likely to purchase. Knowing your EXACT audience is the most crucial factor to selling.
2. How You Sell Matters
A favorite and widely used method of selling is called, SPIN selling. No, it doesn’t mean to showcase your products on a rotating display, it’s an acronym that stands for:
– Situation questions
– Problem questions
– Implication questions
– Need-Payoff questionsThe purpose of situation questions is to find out how your audience or customers do things. What is it they do wrong and what are they lacking on.Then you ask a problem question. According to their situation, what problems can arise, or even will arise from these situations. An implication questions asks what can go wrong if the problem is not solved. This is kind of like the fear factor that consumers experience. Finally, the need-payoff question asks how would a solution benefit them. How important is it for them to have their problems solved since you know how to solve it for them. Here’s an example of questions one would ask an audience for teeth whitening.
“Situation: Brushing teeth without whitening strips.
Problem: Your teeth aren’t going to be white, thus your smile isn’t going to be as nice to look at
Implication: You won’t be able to smile in pictures. Your friends will look at your teeth as gross or unclean. You won’t be as confident as you can be.
Need-Payoff: How great would it be if you could smile confidently without worrying about having stained, or yellow teeth? How much more confidence would you have if your smile was in all its clean, white glory?” Then you offer your product.
Asking questions is valuable. In fact, it is the most valuable tool at your disposal. Now, you may not have to literally ask these questions to every single one of your customers, but instead ask them of your audience. How would the audience of your product respond?
3. The more customers you talk to, the more sales you will make
Simply put, it’s a numbers game. There’s nothing else to note here. The odds of you selling are greater with the more customers you reach out to. Once you find your niche audience, you can expand and grow without limits! Now go out and SELL!
